A great boating pond, welcoming members and some magnificent models await you!

Member Feature - Brian Stevens

By his own admission, Brian builds models for relaxation rather than to sail them, and that perhaps explains why we don’t see him too often! (wait for the gallery to load if you have a slow Internet to enjoy)

Sir Lancelot is a WWII Minesweeper based upon a trawler conversion. This was probably to disguise its purpose from the Germans. Brian has taken this Mountfleet kit to the next level, achieving some really remarkable details.

Rivets - Like Jack, he has used copper and punched through from the rear to obtain authentic rivets. Around the stack and lifeboat supports, he has drilled holes, inserted lead solder and burred it over just like a real rivet.

Right across the model, every aspect of detail has been studied, improved upon and enhanced to make this a great model.

Brian spent the best part of 2 years working on this model and it is a joy to study and watch it traverse the pond.

He has an enormous tug that seldom sees the light of day. I’ll see if we can get it to the pond and photographed!
