Basingstoke Model Boat Club - featured members
The club’s members have a vast experience in model building, steam engine construction, sailing and in some cases racing class model yachts.
Specialists in exhibition standard scale models, tugs, and much more abound in the membership.
This section aims to feature individuals who care to share their experience and so help other modellers enter these specific areas of modelling or read up on the club member with whom they may have talked or seen at the poolside.

Gordon Philpott
A long standing club member and Club Secretary, Gordon makes some really fine detailed model boats and yachts. Jack Sharp
The few boats I have seen and discussed with Jack are really superb in quality and by all account, true to scale and detail of the actual vessel. Jack has exhibited his models and won awards and its always a delight to see yet another of his 14 models appear at the pond. See some from the scanned photos and taken at the pond recently. More.
Ken Knight
Ken, a long standing member who sadly passed away in January 2010, made many models over the years and it seems a shame to remove them from the site. More From amazing Mississippi paddle steamers to novelty fun boats, Ken can be rated at the top end of modelling.
Charlie Redford
Charlie has a wealth of modelling experience and specialises in steam power which bring their own special character to the pond. A long standing club member, very active in club activities and frequently entertaining members and visitors. More

Brian’s WWII minesweeper caught my attention back in the summer, but I didn’t have a chance to photograph it, but on a chilly January Sunday he turned up at the pond once more, complete with this great model More
